Missing People has been announced as the winner of the Helplines Partnership Helpline of the Year Award at a ceremony in London.

The award was collected by Senior Helpline Services Manager Paul Joseph at the organisation's Annual Helpline Conference. The panel of judges said that Missing People's free, 24/7, confidential helpline for people who are missing and their loved ones was a great example of a helpline influencing internationally and using successful partnerships to support service users. The high-level awareness campaigns run by the helpline team were also praised.

Helen Alves, Head of Central Services at Missing People said: “Our dedicated team of volunteers and staff works hard to ensure we can be a lifeline, around the clock for people in crisis who are missing or thinking about going missing and their families.

The team supports people of all ages and backgrounds who are experiencing a real breadth of challenges with the utmost expertise and compassion. The fact that they do this by phone, text, email and now through live 1-2-1 chat as well is testament to their skill and we’re thrilled and proud that this has been recognised by the Helplines Partnership”
