‘Return discussions – reaching returned missing children and adults across Scotland’
Missing People, in partnership with Shelter Scotland and Barnardo’s Scotland, are to deliver free, country-wide training to highlight the importance of return discussions as a vital safeguarding tool for those who have been missing.
By delivering this training for free, we at Missing People are committing to supporting more vulnerable children and adults who go missing across Scotland. Giving these
vulnerable people a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space to discuss their missing experience could help prevent them from leaving home again.
- Becca Padbury, Development and Partnerships Manager at Missing People
The training aims to equip professionals with a specific communication toolkit to manage return discussions and put positive interventions in place, and there will be opportunity to build on existing communication and inter-personal skills to effectively work with missing people.
Collabobation is essential to the delivery and success of effective safeguarding, which is why we are encouraging staff from the following fields to attend this free one day training -
